Located in the heart of the city of Valladolid, it is one of the most popular for swimming due to its crystal-clear waters and refreshing turquoise color, where you can find a rare species of black, eyeless fish called "lub". You can see stalactite and stalagmite formations covering about one-third of the cenote.
Located 7 km southwest of Valladolid, this cenote is inside an underground chamber. You can observe stalactite formations, vivid turquoise waters illuminated by natural light penetrating through a hole in the central part of the vault. The water is shallow and so clean and clear that you can see the fish. Swimming is allowed. Open from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
This town owes its name to the large number of cenotes that exist both in the town and its surroundings. According to the local people, there are more than 150 of them, many of which are in the jungle, so you need to ask the local farmers to visit them. The main ones are Kaipech, Xayín, and Ucil.
Located in the archaeological zone of Dzibilchaltún, it is the closest to the city of Mérida. Its name means "ancient town". It is an open cenote, and the bottom slopes at an acute angle continuing to an unknown distance. You can enjoy a refreshing swim, as well as observe the exclusive fish of the Yucatán cenotes. It is open daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Free entry on Sundays and holidays.
